Title The Laboratory Astrophysics of Cosmic Dust
Abstract

Cosmic dust is an important ingredient of our and other galaxies. It regulates the thermal structure of dusty regions, provides the surface for the formation of molecular hydrogen and more complex molecules and is an integral part of the planet formation process. The talk will summarize the main properties of cosmic dust in our galaxy. The results of key laboratory experiments dealing with the optical properties of dust and its formation will be discussed
